Not only don't my orchids look like this, but all four of my orchids have no stems (so no buds or blooms). It amazes me at the flower show each year how people get their orchids to bloom profusely, exactly when they need them to (in time to enter them into the show). Mine have minds of their own and apparently their minds are shut at the moment to the possibility of flowering.

My supervisor grows orchids - he has them in a sun room with a fountain to control moisture levels. They seem to fiddly! But they are gorgeous.
