Last night A. and I went to the movies (we saw Mamma Mia which was boatloads of fun, even if I am not an Abba fan) and before the movie there was a clip about Stand Up 2 Cancer. Today I was reading the Mothers With Cancer blog and there was a post (and another post) about it there. So I went over to the website to check out what this group is all about. Well, I am impressed and excited! They are basically trying to put together the top cutting edge researchers into Dream Teams for cancer research. This is fantastic, because the way things work now there is not much interaction, at least here in the US. There will be a big television fundraising event on September 5th at 8pm on ABC, CBS and NBC. They are also asking bloggers and myspace/facebook people to participate in Virtual Stand Up and post to their pages that day, something about their personal experience with cancer (and everyone has been touched by it in some way I think).
So you can go check out the website, come back to my blog on the 5th to read my post, post something to your own blog or myspace/facebook page, and donate and/or form a team to get donations (you can also Launch a Star in the name of someone with a donation of as little as $1). Spread the word!
